Interim Pastor – Pastor Herb Hoff

E-mail Interim Pastor – Pastor Herb Hoff
Pastor Herb has been married to Gail for 46 years. We have raised three children: Nathan and Joy have given us four grandchildren; Kirsten and Nicholas have also given us four grandchildren; and David lives with us outside of Olympia.
Gail and I met when we attended the Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle. After my time in the U.S. Army as a draftee, I returned to LBI to earn my undergraduate degree in Christian Education. I graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary (ALC) in 1980.
I retired from full-time ministry three years ago after having pastored for 38 years in Lutheran congregations in Minnesota, Washington and California. I have been a part of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations since 2001.
Enjoyments in my life have included skiing, hiking, camping, yard work, and more recently, shooting firearms.

Leslie Martin

Administrative Assistant
E-mail Leslie Martin
I’ve had the privilege of being the Administrative Assistant for Elim Lutheran Church since 2013.  For a little background, I graduated from the University of Washington with a Communications degree in 1991.  I married my husband, Darryl in 1993, and we have three sons.
I like to volunteer, whether it’s at Elim, my sons’ schools, or their sports teams.  I recently starting my new passion of running.  I’m not fast, but I definitely have an addiction.
I love working at Elim.  I seemed to have found the one job that can utilize my strange and eclectic knowledge and talents.  I feel like I’m constantly learning something new.  If you have any Elim questions, please contact me at

Cathe Erhardt

Elim Christian Preschool Director
E-mail Cathe Erhardt

Cathe Erhardt is the Director of Elim Christian Preschool and a member of Elim Lutheran Church.  As director her responsibilities include establishing goals, plans and schedules. Day-to-day management involves working closely with the staff to create a good relationship between students, families and the preschool. Looking for ways to improve the preschool keeps her creatively busy.  As a member of Elim Lutheran Church, she loves praising her Lord through participation on the worship team.   Cathe, the mother of two adult children (and grandmother of four grandchildren!), has lived in the Lake Stevens area for over 35 years.  She teaches piano most afternoons.
